About Hungary Planning a Trip to HungaryBudapest, Central Hungary, Hungary dont stay too much
- 5 days in the city is enought to explorer all and even more. plenty of time to see the sites and enjoy the nightlife (not one of the best in europe)- if you stay too much its boring Good tip? (0) Baja, Great Plain Region, Hungary Be sure to taste the authentic local specialty, the fish-soup. Best time to do that is during the annual cook-off festival, with lots of music, folk programs, craft-fair and of course lot of food and wines! Good tip? (0) Budapest, Central Hungary, Hungary in a big garage is a very great bar with sometimes concerts, best to go there in warm times to sit outside! the name is KUPLUNG Good tip? (0) Budapest, Central Hungary, Hungary Budapest, the capital of hungary is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Budapest can be divided into Buda and Pest which are like two different cities. Buda - On the hilly westside of the Danube - for sight and history Pest - The flat east side of the Danube - the commercial hub. With green filled parks full of charming pleasures, museums that will inspire, and a pulsating nightlife that is on par to its European counterparts, Budapest is one of Europe's most delightful and enjoyable cities. Getting to Budapest. Budapest is very well connected to the outside world. Connected by airways from all over the world. Direct flights available from most major cities in europe, and some countries from africa, middle east and asia. Budapest international airport is called Ferihegy and is about 16 km from the city center. Transport from the airport to city is mainly by car and bus. But from terminal 1 one can catch the train to the city as well. Due to its location in the centre of europe, budapest is well connected by train and bus services to most european cities. Budapest has many railway stations called palayduvar. the main ones being keleti, deli and nyugati palayduvar (eastern, southern and western railway station). Stations are well connected to each other and to the city. Coming by bus is a great option. The main bus stations are Népliget autóbuszállomás, Stadion autóbuszállomás, Árpád híd autóbuszállomás and Etele téri autóbuszállomás. Bus stations are called autóbuszállomás. Taxis - this is very dangerous area. One has to be very careful using taxis in budapest. Try to enter well established taxi services. Avoid the guys standing by the railwaystations offering taxi services. Boat - there is a hydrofoil services to vienna and bratislava on danube from april to november. Orientation is not a big problem in Budapest. River Danube splits the city in two areas: Buda and Pest. Aside from the very center, the city's structure is quite logical. Landmarks in Buda as the Royal Castle or Citadella Castle also help you to find your way. Besides the Danube itself, the best reference points for orienting yourself are the bridges crossing the river. From North to South, they are: Árpád Bridge ( Árpád híd ) Margaret Bridge ( Margit híd ) Chain Bridge ( Széchenyi lánchíd ) - most photgraphed bridge in budapest Elisabeth Bridge ( Erzsébet híd ) Liberty Bridge ( Szabadság híd ) Petőfi Bridge ( Petőfi híd ) Lágymányosi Bridge ( Lágymányosi híd ) Walking in Budapest ia advised. Lots of Pedestrian zone and these zones are well respected by vehicle users. Excellent public transport system that connects the entire city. Three Metro lines and fourth under construction, trams, trolley buses and buses will get you anywhere in budapest. Travel cards are lot less expensive than single tickets. Make sure you have the tickets at all times and beware of the ticket inspectors - known for their nasty nature and rotten behaviour. to be continued Good tip? (0) Budapest, Central Hungary, Hungary From a Photographer: Fascinating, complex, saturated urban location. Planned on only spending a few days, ended up there for two and a half weeks. Take the time to wander the streets, the architecture, cobblestone allies, random parks, historical sites, and bridges will keep you constantly entranced. For fellow lovers of cemeteries: the 2 best cemeteries that i've ever visited were both located in Budapest- make sure to see the Jewish cemetery (sorrowful and beautiful) for a great view of the city, cross the Elizabeth bridge and follow the trail that stays on the river side of the hill, up to the top of the hill; you'll end up at the back "entrance" to a wonderful park Good tip? (0) Kethely, Transdanubia Region, Hungary Locals love Levi Jeans, bring your own toilet paper!! Good tip? (0) Szeged, Great Plain Region, Hungary Between the cathedral square and the victory arch (you can't miss it, the Soviet era soldiers are a bit terrifying) is a small hamburger shack that is open all night, definitely a plus when you have the munchies at midnight. Fun fact: it used to be a public toilet...but the food is really wonderful, so don't let it turn you off! Good tip? (0) Budapest, Central Hungary, Hungary Important telephone numbers

(0) Szentendre, Central Hungary, Hungary This has got to be among the most photogenic little towns in Europe ... there is something about the light and layout of the place, and its quaint charm, that gives you marvel after marvel of a photo... also something to do with the many nooks and corners, winding alleys, little squares, rustic buildings and steep steps, that offer enough of those perfect 'Henri-Cartier moments'... not much by way of traditional sights... though there is a town museum and allied stuff... but come here with your camera on a sunny day and wait behind corners and buildings for someone to appear...you won't be disappointed...an easy distance from Budapest... come here for the day....
