Travel Tips from people who've been to Andaman Islands
Port Blair is an importnant place when you arrive to Andaman Islands: you buy most of tickets here and this is the only place where you can get your permit to stay on islands. Instead of sitting in a dusty city though, it's better to head to Wandoor, just an hour away from the capital. It offers really nice beach and it's not too crowdy out of weekends. My favourite place to stay there is Paradise Beach Resort, just by the beach at the end of a bus route. The price might be taken as a little bit high but the people are great and area just beautifull so I believe it's worth it. And deffinately it's much nicer to spend evenings there instead of crowdy streets or hot room inside of Port Blair :) Good tip? (0) The Andaman Islands are India's most remote state and are situated off the East Coast in the middle of the Bay of Bengal. You can get here by ferrie or flight from Chennai or Calcutta. Ihas crystal clear water, excellent for snorkelling and scuba diving. Permits for up to one month are obtainable from Port Blair, Andamans small town. Good tip? (0) you have to take the boat from Kolkatta it's longer than from chennai but you'll get more fun! Good tip? (0) Recent Updates for Andaman Islands
