going to port either by plain the autorickshaw should not be more than 50 rupi to the city centre, here you can find some good and cheap accomodation for a night or two , though most people prefer to go to the islands as fast as possible (it is paradise and easy to understand) port blair can offer some good local food in the main basar at the second roundabout( the one after gandhi)
they allso have a good restaurant in the bay area rooftop terrace good vibes and chill beer.
the rickshaw drivers are to wild to discuss prices with, dont. sit in the rickshaw and ask them to drive than you pay according to how far you think you`ve gone, ( about 10-15 rupi per km)
but get to the islands and check out spectacular radha nagar beach no .7 on havelock wukkid! go for camping on the beaches on the way to diglipur, beautiful jungles and serenity..... the ferrys in the ferryport go once or twice daily to neil or havelock check the tickets a day in advance.
