sometimes the transportation in trains is okay
it can be dirty but is fun because there is such great views of India, oh and also if your a kid its fun to climb around in the sleeper carts.

If you want a guarantee that you'll actually end up at the location you ask your taxi driver to take you to, then you'll want to pay your fare at a pre-paid taxi stand. These exist all over Delhi, at most of the major tourist sites. You let the teller know where you want to go, pay them the fare (determined based on where you want to go), and receive a receipt. Then when your taxi driver drops you off where you want to be you give them the receipt. The taxi driver then collects the money from the teller based on your receipt. They can't get paid without it, so if they've taken you to the wrong place (like a hotel that they get commission from rather than where you had booked to stay) you keep the receipt until they take you to your destination. As a female occasionally traveling solo in Delhi, this was a lifesaver!

Women, prepare to be harassed. Your bottom will be pinched, no matter how big, small, attractive, intimidating it is. Rickshaw man will try to rip you off - don't freak out, they do it to Delhites as well. The government emporiums are good to pick up things without the hassle of bargaining if you're tired of arguing over a rupee as they have fixed prices and most of the crafts have been hand picked for quality - you may pay a bit more but it's hassle free shopping. It's a 'love it or hate it' kinda city - best of luck.

dont be afraid of the smell its a great place to see

All a real great make and mix one can say.... home city with the people that I love ... a nice cultural, historical and food city too ... at the same time, one huge construction site, polluted, populated, political...

Are you fed up covering yourself constantly? Do you miss swimming? Here`s my tip: Go to a deluxe hotel and use their pool, some hotels (expensive as hell) allow non-guests in for a fee. The most affordable one is the Cetaur Hotel, NAtional Highway 8.

Dont Drink the tap water take toilet paper condoms with you

Delhi and North Indian states: Best time to visit is March-April and September-November

In times of May-June, its seriously start to get hot and you must be careful with your eating habit.. eat less and drink a lot of water (mineral bottled purchased from a shop) and shikanji!!

In times of August-September, its very humid and hot. Better got routine medicines on like Diarrhea, vomiting and motion.
