Make sure that you have a money belt on you under you clothes as in some areas there are a lot of pickpockets. Also don't be afraid to barter with people if you want to buy things as some prices are for tourists, this is the best way to get a good deal.

If you go to India probably you ll go to India almost for sure. In my opinion, stay there just the enought time. Also, be always alert since there are many people who try to rob the tourist. Do not trust anyone. Much better if you go to other little places where people is different and much nicer. On the other hand, is an interesting city to visit, although you will see a lot of poverty and people there drives absolutly crazy!!!

dehli, Wild, dirty and fullpacked of people, main basar (chowringee) is where you get most backbackers hostels, internetshops touts and messy conditions, else you have the fort, and the great mosque to check out, but the greatest tip is ; get lost in the mess bro! just wander around the colourful bazaars and see how people live together in the vibrating capitol of the worlds most exiting (icredible) country ; India.....bom

The crowded, colourful and unruly heart of India. Don't let your first impressions of Delhi stick like a sacred cow in a traffic jam: get behind the madcap façade and discover the inner peace of a city rich with culture, architecture and human diversity, deep with history and totally addictive to epicureans. Both Old and New Delhi exert a beguiling charm on visitors. Lose yourself unwinding the secrets of the city's Mughal past in the labyrinthine streets of Old Delhi before emerging into the wide open spaces of imperial New Delhi, with its ordered governmental vistas and generous leafy avenues. Summer in Delhi is no joke - from April the temperature climbs relentlessly to more than 45°C (113°F) in May and June and the heat doesn't really abate until October. Dust storms called loo sweep in from Rajasthan with considerable fury. The arrival of the monsoon, at the end of June, brings intense humidity - the murder rate usually peaks in this month. From November to March is the best time to visit, with cool but sunny weather. Also, Holi, one of the most exuberant Hindu festivals, takes place around this time, in February or March. October sees the end of the monsoon, but is reasonably pleasant, although the days can still be pretty hot. Nights can be quite chilly in December and January. Weather One of Delhi's drawbacks is that for more than half the year the climate is lousy. For about four months - from November until about March - it's fine, with daytime temperatures between 21 and 30°C (70-86°F). However, by the end of April it's hot, while May and June are really hot - temperatures can swoop up to more than 45°C (113°F). In July it gets cooler but the humidity really hits, often with all-day rain through August and September.

If you heard about Taj Mahal, you'll probably know atleast three things. Taj Mahal is one of the most beautiful and suggestive attraction on this earth, it is the ultimate monument of Love ever built 'the living legacy' and there is no other monument that lies in comparison with the architecture of Taj Mahal. Many people when they hear the name Taj Mahal in the conversation; they say Taj Mahal 'Wow'. This very reaction of people about the Taj Mahal make it a must visit destination on the historical tour to India. Taj Mahal is not just the piece of architecture, it is the living monument, which is counted as one amongst the 'Seven Wonders of the World'. It's a long drive from Delhi. Total of 9 hrs to get there and back to the hotel where we stayed. Sightseeing is often the best part of travel; it is the essense of knowing and experiencing a place. ; its culture and the people. xox dhemxox

please find a tourist info centre n get all the info bout the places u wanna visit .... n how much its gonna cost u .... coz if u dont find this .... u will be ripped of money very fast .... n yeah dont rely on the tour operators .... probably they will take u to all the good places but the real charm is in the small places .... u will get to see the real delhi culture .... i would say u go to old delhi, chandni chowk, lal kila.
yeah another thing to remember is that the locals will try to rip u of money .... i would say if u look like a bit dark or wheatish in complexion ... try n wear the indian clothes n ppl will know that u know this place ... but if u are a fair skinned person its gonna be real tough, especially in old delhi
another thing is fix the fare if ur takin the auto rickshaw to some place n then go where ever u wanna go .... never take a metered auto-rickshaw in delhi .... its not the same as mumbai .... fix the fare beforehand .... please
try n book a decent hotel .... i am not sayin like a hotel worth Rs. 10000 per day .... please thats a waste of money .... coz ur gonna be wanderin around delhi so much that u wouldnt be stayin in the hotel for so long .... so i would say go for a price limit of 2000 to 4000 per day fare .... in this money u can get a decent hotel at a nice location
try n interact wid the locals as in what u wanna do n where u wanna go .... but never give your stay details or phone no. if u dont know the person
if possible u can use the public transport .... but get the info from ur hotel before enterin ne public transport ....
if u keep these things in mind i suppose ur trip in delhi will be a nice one

Women, prepare to be harassed. Your bottom will be pinched, no matter how big, small, attractive, intimidating it is. Rickshaw man will try to rip you off - don't freak out, they do it to Delhites as well. The government emporiums are good to pick up things without the hassle of bargaining if you're tired of arguing over a rupee as they have fixed prices and most of the crafts have been hand picked for quality - you may pay a bit more but it's hassle free shopping. It's a 'love it or hate it' kinda city - best of luck.

New Delhi being capital city only the government areas are kept neat n tidy. The city is highly polluted with dirty sewage running through the streets and pick pocters everywhere. Its a good place for shopping and to revisit history. For amazing punjabi food and mouth watering dhabbas delhi is the best!

Overall there are plenty of sights in Dehli and the city is defently worth visiting. But!! Stay away from riksha folk if you really want to go sightseeing and not shopping! Better book a taxi via your hotel or go to the Government tourist office at the Connaught place where you can get advice and useful information. For those who like Indian sweets Bikaner sweets corner is the right place:). The shop is located in Pahar Ganj. The choice of sweets is amazing and there is also a nice restaurant on the 2nd floor there. As a cheap accommodation I can recommend Ajay Guest House in Main Bazar. Some of the rooms are quite good.
