Kulu, Himalayan North, India
When you're done with Delhi (and in summertime it will come sooner than you expect at 40 degrees) than flee to the Kulu valley, at the foot of the Himalaya mountains. Temperatures will drop about 10 degrees and evenings/nights can be from warm/cool to cold. The valley is lush and the friendly people of Kulu add a lot of bonus after a bustrip of 16 hours through the mountains. Check out the guest houses higher up in the hills for even more astonishing panoramic views. Some interesting trekkings start from this region.(Manali, etc)

Chandigarh, Himalayan North, India
Capital of two northern states, Chandigarh is among India's better planned cities... it mixes Punjab's aggressive energy with a more sedate Himalayan calm... the weather is not bad compared to the plains...also a travel base to get to the northern parts of the country...
