for those who love to wander around without a specific destination...

walking confidently or quickly through the pink city's markets will not save you from the trouble of shop owners/assistants striking up a general conversation, to invite you later at their shop or small workshop for a cup of tea, which practically means their trying to sell you something...

avoiding them has never worked provided that Indian's are naturally born vendors, skilled with the patience of a donkey...
so, an honest conversation while walking (most of the times they are willing to walk along with you for several blocks, talking constantly in your ear...)would do the trick..as soon as they realize that you are not willing to buy at all, then you get to hear the most interesting, first hand stories as well as bits pieces...

Deshnoke, Rajasthan, India
Go see that Rat Temple near Deshnok... it is almost unbelievable to see all those rats living together, and see how the locals venerate them!!! Apparently it is good luck if you spot a white one and defenetly good luck if one walks on your feet!!!
