Make a return visit to the Meenakshi Temple at night when you can watch the ceremony of the Gods being put to sleep! Only in India... ;-)

Get to the temple early - it is magic with the morning sounds and smells as the city wakes around it... and remember that 'non-hindus' cannot get into the inner sanctum (so don't bother buying an offering for Ganesh!)
