tirupati is faith at its most impressive. not only is it one of the largest active temple complexes in the world, its also the richest. its a place where aura is more affecting than the physical features... not remarkable architecture, but ultra-remarkable devotion. dont miss huge 'trucks' loaded with hair. dont be surprised. it is indian tradition to shave their heads at tirupati in offering. so much so, that it is estimated that almost half the world's wigs come from the hair offered at tirupati. but the temple still rakes in more through offerings than it does through selling hair.

Tirupati is a temple located on the border of Andra Pradesh and Tamilnadu and is home to Sri Venkateswara.  Many followers travel over the 7 mountains either by vehicle or on foot to reach the entrance to the temple where then you will have to stand in line for hours in order to catch a glimpse of the diety.  Upon leaving you will be given a huge ladoo a staple of the temple.

If u r going to visit the famous Thirupathy Temple, women travellers should know that they cannot enter the temple if they are menstruating. It is taboo to enter any place of Indian worship if u r menstruating.
