Travel Tips from people who've been to Mysore
Mysore, traditional city with historic significance. It is a place of beautiful gardens and palaces.Beautiful brindavan gardens and famous mysore palace are the must see places. Vibrant culture of the south and delicious cuisines are the bonuses. Despite its tag of old city it has now got a modern look to itself thanks to various IT parks which have cropped up recently. Well connected my rail and bus. Airport is coming up but nearest air terminal is Bangalore. It opens itself into the Nilgiris in the south side and is strikingly close to the tourist haven OOTY.
one of the most dazzeling cities i ever saw in india, it is quite small, something like antwerp in belgium... but then indian... the have the fantastic beautiful palace of the maharatjha, the one who was the owner of the cohinoor...the biggest diamant of the world, wich is now on the crown of the queen of england.... also they have a small but oh so beautifull market, full of fresh smells of parfume and brightness off the collors they sell a must see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you are looking for a great place to have lunch in Mysire, go to the Green Hotel. Originally the house of the British Resident to the court of Mysore, it was transformed into film studios in the 1920s/30s and is now a very nice colonial hotel with a perfectly maintained english garden. Food is grerat and the place is really well done.
