Bandung Travel Guide

Geger Kalong Girang is the name of the street in north part of Bandung. It's well known because of there are a center of Islamic activity center owned and managed by the famous A'a Gym located on the street. It's not difficult to find the street. Beside nearby top universities in Bandung like Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia and Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata Bandung, it also easy to find by taking a public transportation (angkot) with destination Ledeng terminal.

Bandung is an old Dutch colonial city in the highlands about 150 km from Jakarta. Up on the ridge top are the holiday homes of the Jakarta elite. Down town are things you just won't find elsewhere on Java like ice cream parlours and French bakeries and great bars. A fantastic city well worth visiting.

If you want to visit Ancol, please go there in the early morning because the traffic at 7 a.m. is awful, especially in Jakarta.

Surabaya is a donut city with most of the best areas in the middle. The pace of life is very high in Surabaya and there's not that much to do if you don't like shopping malls. Plenty of night life options from café/bars through to big nightclubs. A good place to book trips to Malang, Bromo or by bus or train to Bali, Yogyakarta or Jakarta. Locals are less friendly (but generally still friendly) than Central Java or Bali. Most longer stayers are here on business or because they have friends/family in the city.

you definetly need a car to get around... lots of good food... i mean LOTS!!! mostly locals or chinese food go for a day out to Tretes and eat sate or sri fried chicken... do not wear or bring excessive jewellery, gadgets or money... it might attracts criminal.. love the city... grew up here...!!!!!!!!1

You should book a hotel 2 weeks or a week before if you prefer to star during weekend. Bring a lot of money for shopping. If you love to shop, you should stay in Hotel around Jl. Riau. Hotel Grand Serela is one of good hotel in the area. If you love to eat you should try all restos, cafes and lounge at Dago pakar area. I suggest to bring jacket coz of is quite cold. Avoid Jl. Riau on Saturday nite otherwise you will stuck in a traffic jam. Bandung is a romantic city, a good place for dinner with your love one is D Peak or The Valley. You can see the view of Bandung city from those restaurants.

Wow be fashioned... why because lots of factory outlets that offer many kind of clothes from baby to adult. Get bancrupt...hehehehe dont be afraid... it's not tooo scary at all.

Well, I went mostly to factory outlets.... (....) my mom wanted to find clothes so I went with her. After that I just go back or stay at Puncak

If you are adventurous and have strong stomach, try grilled sticky rice with 'oncom' (fermented peanut sauce). You should also try "kangkung cah" at a chinese restaurant just in the corner when you are turning right after passing Lembang Hotel on a one way street. 

Avoid Gasibu Area every Sunday morning because the traffic is so bad, except you want to enjoy the crowd
