A layover city reside north of west java , Indonesia . Cirebon is a small city where we can enjoy the highest mountain in west java , Ciremai . and the water supply is the cleanest around Indonesia .The first thing i remember about Cirebon is the culinary . You can find a lot of delicious Indonesian food from this city . for example is Nasi Jamblang , Empal Gentong , Tahu Gejrot and pickles . but Cirebon known as shrimp city . where you can find shrimp spicy call terasi . and let me tell you where you should go to find this food . For Nasi jamblang , you can find it on DR. Cipto rd. it placed near of traffic light of Tuparev rd . and Empal gentong (such a meat soup) it placed on Krucuk rd , it called Mang Darma . and for Tahu gejrot you just find it around afternoon to evening . because they don't have any specific place to sale it . they have been moving all the time .
Interacting with locals quiet difficult if you aren't around city . because they don't speak english . at least you can ask them with some of Indonesian words .
Transportation , i love to use Becak ! or trishaw , yeaah.. it's better than using angkot (such a public transportation) . because you dont have to share with strange people . but it more expensive than angkot , and slower . but it felt so relax . i enjoy it ..
and hotel you can find expensive one or cheaper . it's up to your . there is Patra Jasa on Tuparev rd . Santika on Wahidin rd . but i don't know much about guest house .
For danger and annoyances , too much people who ask money (actually they are homeless) . so prepare coins if you want to give them some of . but i don't suggest you to give , because they are around each traffic light ! and be carefull with what you bring , there is quiet lot of pick pocket , even you could get rob . and be carefull .. your phone .. :)
