Kuta Travel Guide

Kuta has an endless list of accommodation options to choose from. So, you need not worry about making a reservation in advance unless you really do not have much time to waste looking for accommodation.  For budget to 2 star hotels, i would recommend you look along Jalan Poppies I and Poppies II.  The Barong Hotel on Jalan Poppies II is a reasonable choice.  Try it. Shopping wise, it's endless in Kuta.  As the weather can be quite burning to the skin, make sure you rub on the strongest SPF sun lotion on to your skin...unless, of course, you have plan on acquiring the exotic asian tan look.

Bali Electricity (for Aussie Travellers): The electrical current in Bali is 220volts AC. The local two-pin plug is different from many countries - you will need to purchase an adaptor. I bought one for AUD$10 online before I left, but there are electrical shops in Kuta and Denpasar, as well as the back streets of Ubud, that you can purchase them from.
