Travel Tips from people who've been to Mataram
If you are staying on Lombok try to avoid the hussle and bussle of Mataram. It is not a really great city to stay because there is a lack of interesting things to see. However in the middle of Lombok you have the mountain Rinjani. This is a really a must to climb this mountain during a 3 day trip. It's top is around 3700 m and the view is stunning. You can see the whole island and nearby Bali. The costs are not that high but it is not for the faint hearted and requires some blood. sweat and tears to reach to the top. GO FOR IT!!! YOU WOULDN'T REGRET IT!! Good tip? (0) If you drive to Mataram from Lembar(ferry port), as soon as you arrive to the city, the two way road you been driving it turns into a one way, with barely any warning, wich will leave you going against the trafic.
Conviniently, there is a police station right in the corner and you might see your self having to haggle some cops to let you out of that one, spetially if you rented the car in bali and you paperwork is a bit dodgy. Good tip? (0) Not a great food selection to be honest with you. One thing... when you order the fried chicken. They will bring you a fried chicken. It really really isnt the same thing. And thats not just the feathers..... Good tip? (0) Recent Updates for Mataram
