Travel Tips from people who've been to Central North Ireland
You need plenty of euros to visit this part of Ireland. Durkins bar is a must they do the BEST lunchtime meals good, honest, wholesome cooking washed down with wonderful draught Guiness. If you stay at Durkins ask for a room on the back as the noise from the bar is a nightmare. These rooms have a special views of yes you have guessed it more buildings. Ballagh is a fast growing town there is another high rise hotel block but its not the same as being in the town. Loads and loads of pubs. Ballagh also has a great hardware store with a small (yes you guessed it ) bar at the back just what you need after buying a pound of nails and mop and bucket. Hire a car and check out the area there are some great little towns villages and scenery go to the Ox Mountains FANTASTIC.

There is a great little Bed and Breakfast called The Bastion, that is nothing like a traditional B&B. The two guys who run it are very friendly. Breakfast is a full meal and it is delicious. If you can, get the room with the slanted roof on the end. It fits 2 or 3 people and is a very cool space.

A really nice little village, the most interesting it get's in summer during the willie-clancy-summer school, that's really fun but you have to be really into irish folk... During the rest of the year it's rather sleepy with nice people and cute little restaurants and great sessions.
