Doolin Travel Guide

Eén van mijn favoriete reisjes.  Er valt niet echt veel te beleven, maar het is er supermooi.  Zeker de moeite om een fiets te huren en naar de Cliffs of Moher te rijden.  Overal groene vlaktes, muurtjes en hier en daar een schaap of lelijk paard.  Gezellige pubs met Guinness-stoverij en meer van dat :) Het Aille River Hostel is ook de moeite, je kan er een kamer nemen of goedkoop kamperen in de tuin terwijl je toch van alle accomodaties gebruik mag maken (zelfs wasmachine en internet). 

Doolin is a lovely but slightly odd place. Locals are lovely and some of them will put themselves out to help you (like letting you camp in their orchard and taking you to the pub to meet people). Maps don't seem to be very acuarate in the doolin area, they miss of things like huge open quarry's. We found that someone has moved the Claire Way sign to face the wrong way too!  

Try to come with some food as it seems the store is never open.  Or eat at one of perhaps 2 local restaurants. If you need a place to stay, the Ali River hostel is a lovely place.  I recommend taking a trip to Inismor from the Doolin marina and staying on the Aran islands for a couple of days.  Doolin is also very close to the Cliffs of Moher
