0102Tory Island, the most north-westerly point in Europe, is 9 miles from the mainland and accessed by ferry from Bunbeg and Magheraroarty in County Donegal. The Tory Islanders still have their own, self-appointed, 'King' who greets everyone with a smile and a hand-shake as they leave the ferry. There is a hotel and bar on the island (which should be reserved in advance) and plenty for nature lovers, especially ornithologists. There are a couple of beaches, some historic places of interest and plenty of live music from the locals and guests alike. Take your guitar with you.
