Take the DART from central Dublin to the picturesque village of Dalkey..  Walk along Sorrento Road to see the houses of the rich and famous, and on to the Vico Road for the  absolutely amazing sea views.  Visit the Heritage Center in the castle on the High Street.  There are interesting shops along the High Street, including a great bookshop, and plenty of cafes..

Try the Country Bake on the High Street for home made soups, sandwiches, decadent cakes, tasty Irish breakfasts.  It's always busy in there!

Be aware that the banks in Dalkey will not change US$ 100 notes - they all say that you have to exchange in their branches in central Dublin.
