People in Campania Region
Amalfi, Campania Region, Italy
Enjoy the local smaller shops, restaurants and cafes. Take taxi or tourbus as the roads are very narrow and Italiens do not drive like people from other places.

Sorrento, Campania Region, Italy
Sorrento itself is pretty, and has many great restaurants. Be careful of the smaller towns nearby - I loved them, but there is often no footpath, and people tear around corners on scooters, so it can, in reality, be very, very dangerous. Somehow though, it always works out fine...the locals adopt that attitude as well. Nice place.

Napoli, Campania Region, Italy
Hey, beware of people trying to sell expensive stuff for little money on places such as on the piazza Garibaldi. They will trick you by putting it in a bag filled with sugar, salt, .... whatever and you think you have the real deal. But the truth is that they have got your money and whatever you were buying !!! Anyway with Napels being so dirty now, I don't see anyone going there, it is really a shame. If it would one day be restored, it would be one of the most beautiful cities in Europe !

Napoli, Campania Region, Italy
Napoli, Napoli, is a very famous Italian city but not exactly for its beauty (that has it) but bc its reputation. usually you hear people saying that "take care in Napoli is a very dangerous city, see for you bag, etc" staff like that, but it is a nice city with problems that many cities on the world has too and even worst, you can go to walk around the beach and around the castle.

Napoli, Campania Region, Italy
the ruines of the old Napoli...that's pretty obvious, but make sure you see the penis-shaped arrows on the streets. they were used to show the people in the city where the prostitutes worked. In the place where they worked you can see fresco's of several sex positions, men would enter and had to show what they wanted...it's fun hahaha

Sorrento, Campania Region, Italy
Lanterna due in the old town defenitely serves the best 'saute di cozze' and the staff is great. The fact that there is live music every evening at about 8 pm and that it's situated in a small a alley doesn't lower the score. And it's not that expensive either.

Pompei, Campania Region, Italy
While staying at a really great campsite in Sorrento my husband and I rented a motercycle to drive out to Pompei for the day. Pompei the city is pretty ugly and run-down - unfortunately most of the town's money is generated by the scavii site. Taking a bike out there for the day from a nearby base gives you a chance to take in the beautiful coastline, and avoid having to spend the night in Pompei itself.

Meta, Campania Region, Italy
Go to Punta Scutari - it is the best lookout in the region, and you can see miles of beautiful mediterranean. Can be a bit of a walk, so make sure you are fit before going to Meta! If you aren't, don't worry; you will be by the time you leave, even if you only spend one day there! Beaches are better than in Sorrento, Piano di Sorrento etc, but you don't really need to pay, because the 'public beaches', which are right next to the private ones, are every bit as good, unless you are looking for first-class treatment; this being the case Meta is probably not the place for you, as is more of a fishing village. This would have to be one of my favourite villages in Italia, as it has a more 'untouched' feel than Sorrento.

Napoli, Campania Region, Italy
when you get to napoli, watch your bag!!! You can enjoy a nice shipride to Iskea, the popular island on mediterian sea, where you can definately enjoy the beech, hiking, freshly made fish dishes, house wines and best freshh olives in hotel "LaGondola", which is located on a beech, 20 miters away from water. You might also love Iskea's mud baths and mineral water pools, because the island is of vulcanic origin. You can also experience natural mineral sounas on the same island.

Anacapri, Campania Region, Italy
Anacapri is incredible. It's a small mountain town that bleeds down to the cliffs on the Isle of Capri. It's a small enough town to be able to walk around the narrow streets. Buy some lemon soap and try some Limoncello, really, anything with the lemons of Capri in it will be exceptional. You'll see. But be careful with the Limoncello; it's a deceptively intoxicating liqueur. Also, take the chair lift up to Monte Solaro. I can only say the view is in my top three best world views of all the places I have been. You can hike down the mountain at a certain point, in the direction of Capri (the other village where you likely first entered the Isle). Along the way are more astonishing views, and a little hidden chapel tucked in the trees. So serene. But if you hike down the mountain to Capri instead of taking the chair lift back down to Anacapri, just follow the red dots on the tree trunks. You'll soon see a large rock on which it is spray-painted in red 'Capri ---'. It's a hike that's worth the effort.

Capri, Campania Region, Italy
Go there just to see the colour of the water and taste the lemons ... the bluest and freshest I've seen and tasted ... its a tourist-trap and a James Bond movie was shot here ... but worth any day for its sheer beauty ... unless you are into water-sports or want to relax for a while in Capri, a day-trip from Naples allows you to see and feel much of it...

Pompei, Campania Region, Italy
If you got a little knowledge about the whole Pompeian history, you can just get lost in the city and discover it yourself. Very much worth it, with or without guide.
