Travel Tips from people who've been to Ferrara
The Castello Estense, also known as the Castel Vecchio is the moated castle where Renaissance murderess Lucrezia Borgia spent most of her married life. She is one of the venomous Borgia family who are legended to be the most incestuous, murdering, vindictive and manipulative family in Renaissance Italy. The castle itself is not incredibly interesting, but taking the history that transpired within the walls with you while you tour and you'll have a wonderful time. Good tip? (0) Very nice city with lots of things to see: they have the best preserved renaissance walls, as everybody says. The most prominent building is the square Castello Estenese in the centre of the town, a brick building surrounded by a moat with four towers. Other interesting places in this city like The Cathedral, Community Theatre, The Certosa, Piazza Trento e Trieste and many many more! Good tip? Good tip? (0)
