Emilia-Romagna Region People & Culture
Bobbio, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy This is a special place with a beautiful medieval bridge called Ponte Gobbo or according to the legend and local people :"the bridge built by the devil" An if you love the nature contact, this is a perfect place for you :) Good tip? (0) Rimini, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy Nights in Rimini are great... but the biggest clubs are right outside of the main city in the hills surrounding the town, in order to get there the almost only solution would be to grab a taxi. With hundreds of people trying to taxi themselves to the hills after dinner, this could be quite "fun"! The best option if you are downtown would be to go to Central Station and grab a taxi from there, there will certainly be others going your same way and if you are not shy you will get a lift to the hills in a shared taxi.
If you are staying at one of the hotels in the seaside strip you can get a taxi from there (the hotel will arrange for your cab to pick you up without problems)
Coming back home will also be a challenge but it should not be that much of a problem for the skilled party-goer. Clubs close at about 7/8 AM (only to reopen as matinnées or after hours an hour later). By the time you come out of the clubs there will be a bus line already in service so... not to worry (be careful with late Sunday starts for buses, you might have to ask for a ride home -thousands of people head back to the beach at the same time and it should not be too hard to find someone going your way) Good tip? (0) Prato, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy Prato is awful! The people is absolutely nasty! I didn't like that place at all! Good tip? (0) Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy Don't go there if you're looking for crazy nightlife! It's a nice city to visit during the day, but at night it's almost a bit scary. Not much lights and not many people around Good tip? (0) Rimini, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy Very much to do there in terms of walking. Hotels are great! Always something going on in the clubs. Very nice place for young people. Do I need a car?? Good tip? (0) Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy Old Byzantine city, with marvellous architecture. Nothing special about nightlife. Mainly for those who are into culture stuff. I've met some friendly student, not sure if it's luck or usual. Good tip? (0) Morfasso, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy Ho frequentato un corso di djembe' presso l'associazione Koron Tle', splendido. Massima ospitalita', clima familiare. Consigliato Good tip? (0) Vignola, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy In the heart of Emilia-Romagna, you will find the little town of Vignola. It is smaller and more peaceful than its neighbor Modena, but it comes alive during the annual cherry festival! It is also home to a music school (CUBEC) founded by the legendary soprano, Mirella Freni, so it’s not unusual to hear opera as you walk through the streets. If you need a place to stay, try: Via Tavoni, 20 Vignola (MO) tel. +39.059.77.67.11 web: http://www.cittacastelliciliegi.it email: info@cittacastelliciliegi.it I’ve spent many weeks in this lovely family-style hostel off the beaten track in Vignola. The rooms are tidy and the views are gorgeous, especially in the springtime. You can start the day with a good cappuccino, then rent a bicycle and explore the path along the river. Good tip? (0) Morfasso, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy Ho frequentato un corso di djembe' presso l'associazione Koron Tle', splendido. Massima ospitalita', clima familiare. Consigliato Good tip? (0) Bologna, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy starcity club, cu.ca.bo: goa trance music Good tip? (0) Reggio nell'Emilia, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy Here, U2 hosted a concert for more than 200,000 people in 1997. Unforgettable. Good tip? (0) Rimini, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy Visit the Carnaby Cub. It's the best one and there are3 floors with different music styles! Good tip? (0) Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy Rent a bike and use it to visit the city, in a spring sunny day it is wonderful! Good tip? (0) Rimini, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy Avoid taxis, Rimini is extremely expensive for this kind of transportation.
If you are staying downtown (unlikely, but it could happen) take bus number 11 from Rimini's central train station to the beach, it continues all along the Lungomare (seaside) down to Riccione. Bear in mind that during the summer months (May through September) the traffic jam along the seaside will be constant and neverending. The best option would be to go as far as you can with the 11 and then simply get off and walk. The normal thing for the seaside is to have a traffic jam from Bologna to Rimini's beach from 10 in the morning until 5 PM. Unbearable!
If you do not feel like walking... rent a bike or bring your skates the place is equipped with nice pedestrian only "roads" Good tip? (0) Riccione Marina, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy Hotel Ermeti is a very good place to stay, also without stars. The food is excellent, cooked by the owners wife. Fattoria al mare is a nice place to eat fish dishes, pizza and meat, just in front of the beach No. 124.
Nightlife in Riccione is a highlight for everyone's holidays. A couple of Discos outside the village on the hills: You have to see Prince and Peter Pan Disco. Good tip? (0) Comacchio, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy Quiet little fishing village with adorable bridges and canals. Good tip? (0) Rimini, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy Rimini's Marina Centro and Lungomare Augusto is the center of beaches and nightlife. The party scene here is non-stop! A seaside type of promenade runs along the coast.. many areas are private with cabanas and umbrellas, etc. Many young italians come from about June to September and sun themselves all day and party at discotechs all night. A good getaway day trip is to San Marino about 25 kms away. Also of interest would be the old FIsh Market, the Fontana della Pigna and the Birdge of Tiberius. If you are planning a trip and want to beat the busy summer rush I would plan for May-June or September-October. Good tip? (0) Grazzano Visconti, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy What a wonderful place! A medieval town in the middle of Italy! Good tip? (+1) Bologna, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy If you want to visit Bologna, it's better not to take your car. The city center is a limited trafic zone where the non-residents are not allowed to drive (except the clients of the hotels). You will get a +/-100 € fine if you drive in that area, which is only indicated by road signs (no gates). If you want to stay in Bologna and are not staying in an hotel, you can purchase a card wichs allows you to park your car in the streets outside the city center (35€ for one month). You can also leave your car in a covered parking outside the city center (Parking Santa Orsola) for 79€ a month. Good tip? (+1) Bologna, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy Really nice little city - read "The Broker" - John Grisham before you go. Set in Bologna really good to pique your interest Good tip? (0) Berceto, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy The mountains here are stunning and peaceful. The center of town is cute and small. Good tip? (0) Rimini, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy In the off season, the town is dead and most places are closed or open for shorter hours. The sea is pretty but in October it was too chilly to stay on the beach. Good tip? (0) Top Cities in Emilia-Romagna Region |
