Rome's former Jewish quarter is a warren of winding streets full of the best trattorias imaginable.  Just get lost and enjoy the food, the nightlife in the Piazza Sta. Maria della Trastevere, street vendors and markets.  Look for the turtle fountain in Piazza Mattei.
