Travel Tips from people who've been to Corniglia
This is a place to spend at least three days. You can walk from town to town along the most beautiful scenery on the Ligurian coast. Some paths go along the water and can be one km. or two long and sometimes there's a climb among the olive groves so high will take your breath away (by the height and mostly by the sights.) Everyone must go there.Do a section one day and return by train to your base town. Next day continue where you left. Everyone of the five or six towns are connected with each other by train!!! You can buy a three or five day railpass and gives you admission to some nature reserves on the way. Very handy. Good tip? (0) Bring water bottles. There are something like 320 stairs to climb to get to this hilltop town from the Cinque Terre National Park trail from Manarola. The higher you climb, the more impressive the view. It's worth the hike up (lots of people skip Corniglia and take the train stright to Vernazza) because the town is quite beautiful and the vistas are amazing. There were several nice small restaurants for lunch there (although we were too early so waited until we reached Vernazza). Good tip? (0) Cinque Terre is a must see! If you hike from Manarola to Vernazza you will see this quaint mountain village. Good tip? (0) Recent Updates for Corniglia
