Liguria Region Dos and Don'ts
Travel Tips for Dos and Donts in Liguria RegionArenzano, Liguria Region, Italy This little place is perfect to enjoy the beach and the local italian atmoshpere. There's a lot nearby. For example Genova (1 million inhabitants), the mountains in your back, the sea in your front. It's a bit touristic but still the italian atmosphere is kept! Perfect for a little week to rest! Good tip? (0) Cogoleto, Liguria Region, Italy I wouldn't advise this little village. It's really hard to go there by public transport and also very boring. The only good things they offer are the beach and the italian food.. Good tip? (0) Santa Margherita Ligure, Liguria Region, Italy Although this city is expensive, it is worth a visit. Amazing views of the water. The town was a fun one to walk around to explore local life. A hotel worth mentioning is the "Hotel La Vela (Castello il Rifugio)". It is a hike from the center of town below but if you hail a cab, in just moments it will take you up to a hotel with amazing views of the town and seaside below. Outside your window you will see curtains of flowers, large and bright in color. Pictures cannot capture the beauty to be seen in this town. The hotel offered a large breakfast and was clean. Staff was unimpressive but otherwise its a good hotel. Nice town to relax in and also a good alternative to the Cinque Terre which is often booked through peak times. Stay here and take a short train ride to the Cinque Terre for a day trip. Good tip? (0) Vernazza, Liguria Region, Italy Vernazza is part of the Cinque Terre and probably my favorite of all five cities. The early morning market is a nice way to explore before the crowd explodes mid-day. Good tip? (0) Sarzana, Liguria Region, Italy Sarzana is a very nice place to travel to.
I ahve been there in August for a Week, when in Italy it is Summer Holiday.
During this period there are loads of things to do there and many activities take place there.
Some local Festivals (SAGRA) in the smaller villages up in the mountians where it is still possible to eat out on the main square with stunning views over the Sea and good typical food.
In Sarzana there is antique Fair in the Streets and also some kind of art exhibition and painters working under your eyes.
All Restauranrs are pretty good there!
Farinata (a kind of bread) is good and the Fish is delicious there!
The City of Sarzana itself is very coosy and there is a nice small fortified Castle in the Center that si worth a visit. Good tip? (0) Top Cities in Liguria Region |
