Few travelers choose to stop at Vernazza when traveling to Italy, and those that do usually only make a brief stop to see the Harbor. Other places in the area such as La Spezia and Genova may be more interesting to explore. If you do travel to Vernazza, please take some time to tell us about what you saw in this Vernazza travel guide.

Travel Tips from people who've been to Vernazza
One of the most beautiful places on earth. Hike the Cinque Terre (5 towns) National Park trail between Monterosso, Vernazza, Corneglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. It's 7 miles of mostly hilly and rough terrain but the views are astounding. You'll see olive groves, grape vines, lemon trees, cliffs, crystal clear waters and five beautiful, unique and pristine little towns. Vernazza is probably the prettiest of all the towns because of its crescent-shaped harbor. But all the towns are unique gems. We were there in September when there were not throngs of tourists and recommend that as a great time to visit Italy. Good tip? (0) Best plan is to rent an apartment and stay for at least a week! You will get into the groove of things, meet the locals, and never want to leave! Enjoy the harbor and beach, little shops, and booming little cafe/bar! Good tip? (0) Vernazza is part of the Cinque Terre and probably my favorite of all five cities. The early morning market is a nice way to explore before the crowd explodes mid-day. Good tip?
