Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Tuscany Region, Italy
A beautiful village in the middle of the mountain with sweet athmosphere.... Great in summer!!!
Rome, Lazio Region, Italy
Roma is certainly one of my absolute favorites, if not the favorite. It's a stunning, beautiful, city in which you feel immediately at home. The Roman people are very friendly, and if you speak just a little bit Italian, they become even more friendly. If you happen to speak Italian, buy the guide "La Grande Guia di Roma", in which there are described several tours who guide you through Rome from the Ancient Royal, Republican and Imperial times, just into the Rennaisance and Modern times. Don't bring a car into Rome. Public transport is very easy and well organised, and a car will only bring you stress. Moreover, a lot of Rome can be done by foot, which is very advisable. The gay quarter is not that big (it's near the Colloseum), but apparently that's changing. Roman society is quite tolerant to gays, however public exchanging salivas is probably not really appreciated. Shopping is GREAT in Rome, as is eating, drinking - Italian wines certainly can compete with te French ones - and goin' out.
Cagliari, Sardinia Region, Italy
Visit Cagliary after May, as it gets much nicer in summer period. Otherwise it is almost impossible to swim, because of cold. All kinds of sea food is really cheap and you can get it in every restuarant. There are many beautiful places that are not known for tourists, therefore it is better to ask for traveling advice the local residents.
Siracusa, Sicilia Region, Italy
A must see for the archaeologist in Sicily. If not staying here overnight for a couple of days, I recommend visting very early to really explore the city. There is so much to see. The archaeological park, the catacombs of San Giovanni with its old frescos, the archaeological museum, and then the island of Ortygia joined to the mainland by bridge. In Ortygia, I loved Piazza Archimede with its stunning Baroque fountain and a must see is Piazza del Duomo with the Duomo, Baroque Palace and beautiful church. Go to the harbourfront and you can see the mythical Arethusa spring and fountain. I would plan it to explore the archaeological park in the morning and have lunch in either of the piazzas
Bologna, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy
The "Cassero" is a must for every LGBTQ traveller. It's probably the first gay club ever opened in Italy. It's small and generally offers a good dj set.I've also tried the "Red's", which is bigger and has... an enormous dark room (the first and only I've ever been to but trust me... it's huge). But you can also dance there :)For historical reasons I suggest the first one, but you can try both.
Milano, Lombardy Region, Italy

Milano, Lombardy Region, Italy
Shopping in Milano downtown can get very expensive if you go to boutiques. An alternative is a store called La Rinascente, very close to Il Duomo. They have nice italian clothes at accesible prices.
