02059When you are in Tuscany and you get the chance to visit Elba, I would! You can simply take a ferry from Piombino. When you get to the port of Portoferraio walk to the other side of the town, you'll have a very nice view over the ocean. If you walk down the steps, you will find a tiny littly bay for sunbathing and swimming! The water is so blue here!!

01321Small port on island where Napoleon Bonaparte was imprisoned. Great sightseeing, beautiful terrains. Watch out for restaurants (always + 4euros for "coperto", quite expensive, poor personel, small portions, no english - like in whole Italy) and other food - term of use may be passed (even in restaurants).
