Siena was a main rival to Florence in medieval times, but was conquered by Florence and lost its influence. 24971561One marvel of a city... spend loads of time in its sloping central square... its huge and lively and has a different atmosphere during the day and the night... check out its churches and restaurants too... there is great art and great Tuscan food to be found in Siena ...
