Travel Tips from people who've been to Volterra
Volterra is one of the best towns in Tuscany to visit. It is one of the oldest towns in Italy. Sitting on top of a mountain with it Etruscan walls surrounding it. There are a few museums, Medicean Castle, a lot of shops selling Alabaster, a Roman Amphitheatre and bathhouse, and an absolutely amazing view overlooking to valleys below. In August, the town has a week long medieval festival call Volterra AD 1398. Good tip? (0) Go to Web & Wine to use the internet, drink espresso, eat food, or get amazing hot chocolate! Walk around as much as possible- there are lots of neat shops, excellent gelaterias, Roman, Etruscan, and Medieval ruins, and a bus stop where you can catch a bus to other great Italian destinations! Good tip? (0) Make sure if you take the bus to get there that you know when and where the buses stop that night. Good tip? (0) Recent Updates for Volterra
