Cortina d'Ampezzo Travel Guide

Visited Italy only twice. This destination for skiing. I was really amazed by this place.

Getting there with an organised trip was a really good idea. We got to a hotel and a place for all our things. A lot of the people working in hotels and restaurants there are polish. The village is really charming. Hills just covered in buidlings, every one different.

No thieves, because there they could not earn good money, plus a nice few slopes within an hour drive.

Really advise to visit it in the winter time.

This was meant to be somewhere I'd go under sufferance because at that time I couldn't ski. But learing there was a breeze compared to my initial attempt in Australia. And how many ski instructors help you appreciate the finer points of grappa (this one made his own). Great scenery, and while it's not cheap, it beats Australian hands for value, not to mention food and moutain terrain. I'll be back/

Cortina and its surroundings is a perfect place for all kind of outdoor activieties all year round! the mountains around provide all kinds of oppurtunities regarding climbing, hiking, skiing ir skitouring. just an awesome place of earth. i visit it every year!
