Best start point to climb Mount Fuji (Fuji-san)
You can drive up to fifth station on Fujinomiaroute by car - From this point it's just 1000m altitude to the top of Mount Fuji. The best way to get to Fujinomia ist go by Shinkansen to station Shin-Fuji and go on with a local bus.
