n640261152_1491307_6202 1945年的時候美國在日本廣島扔下一個原子彈...
n640261152_1491311_7606 晚上索性也吃好些...
n640261152_1491312_7958 不過這是斑竹在京都的最後一晚了...

There are plenty of sights to see here.  The A-Bomb dome is fascinating once you know the story behind it.  You can read about it at the museum (very depressing, but definitely worth a visit).  Also, check out the war monument and the children's monument.  The children's monument is far more moving.  It was built after one girl died.  She had been attempting to fold 1000 paper cranes in the hopes that her wish would come true and she would get healthy again.

Also, while you're in Hiroshima, take a day and visit Miyajima island (宮島).  The views are spectacular.  If you're lucky, You'll catch a wedding ceremony while you're there.  But whatever you do, be wary of the deer.  They aren't really dangerous, in fact you can buy food for them from vendors around the island.  They're just really persistent and annoying.

With regards to food, be sure to try some Okonomiyaki (I recommend the Waka Taka restaurant) while you're in Hiroshima, it's some of the best in Japan.

From the past to the future .. you can walk the remnants of the past from the blast of the Atomic Bombs that were dropped in WWII with the famous church still standing at ground zero .. you will also see the shadows burnt onto the sidewalks and other places from the extreme heat that occured in the blast. Dont miss the fabulous museum of the city which includes many things of the Atomic Blast. BEWARE .. do NOT attempt to visit during the month of August. A Warning is advised to all travelers to NOT go to Hiroshima during August. August is the month the Atomic Bomb was dropped in WWII and Japan honors the fallen during that time on which many activist groups participate. Otherwise .. its a beautiful city .. as if it had just been built and futuristic. Totally Awesome and lots to see.
