In july there is an amazing show of fireworks by the lake Biwako.  thousands of people go dow no the shore and watch the spectacular show that lasts for upp to 1 houre or more.

The location at the southern tip of Lake Biwa is pleasant enough and good fish to be had. Usual mix of temples and mountains so not too much to get excited about.
