Travel Tips from people who've been to Sakai
It's the city's of birth of my fiance. Sakai makes part of Osaka, has 800.000 civ. It has a port since ages, where before the portugese came to trade with japan. It's the birth city of the samurai swords. now they don't make anymore swords or just in rare occasions, but it's renomated for it's famous sakai knifes. Later they made guns, by this technology it had devastating results for other japanese districts. Now Sakai has a big harbour, and 2 famous mausoleum's in fact world's biggest mausoleum for a japanese emperor. both are surrounded with water and have a keyhole shape.also sakai is know for it's traditional tea ceremony's and it's tea filosophers. a good place to stay overnight and to visit osaka and sakai, is Shin-imamya it's along the nankai line, and can find cheap hostels for about 10 to 15 euro per night.
