Fukuoka is the city and financial center; Hakata is the train station and seaport. Two cities in one! Take the shinkansen (bullet train) from Tokyo to Hakata. Enjoy ramen at a yatai, yakitori on a stick or see the Fukuoka Soft Bank Hawks at the Dome.

If you are ever in Hakata, Canal City is a must see! It is in walking distance from the train station and is full of great shopping and entertainment. Depending on the season, there is amazing shows and special features that are built inside.
