Ahhh Sasebo. If you are getting stationed here I feel for you. It's "Country" in comparison with the other ports in Japan. If you are keen on drinking, you can pay $8 per drink out in town (Sailor town or Sake Town--both are close to base). A small Genza is nearby as well, for some surprisingly decent shopping. Check out the 100 Yen stores, they have practically everything for a dollar. Make sure to take the train to Huis Ten Bosch to get a glimpse at Brazilian dancers in the dutch town. Quite a find in Japan, you know.
