Travel Tips from people who've been to Tōhoku Region
  • The pedestrian crossings sing a little song.
  • There is a very cool noodle bar beneath the train station.
  • There is a stand on the corner of the street opposite the main bridge over the river that sell these amazing octopus and dried fish ball things, they tast GREAT, suprsingly.
  • DO NOT eat dried eel!
  • The karaoke bars are awesome.
  • And if you are going to drink something from an orange can that you think is Japanese Tango then be warned it may be orange iced tea.
  • If you go in the winter the snow is incredible, you can almost see each snowflake shape its so cold.
  • If you go in the autumn then the colours are incredible on the trees .
  • Go in October like me and enjoy both the above two points.
  • In the spring there's the cherry blossom.
  • In the summer take some shorts coz it can get hot!
  • Whenever you go, go to the top of the volcano or you may as well not bother going at all.

Oh the lovely little place we call Japan. I'm not impressed. Japan lacks a lot of normal comforts that most would normally associate with one of the most technologically advanced country in the world. My opinion is undoubtedly biased as I am an American and am used to certain luxuries. The beaches are not even worth mentioning unless you like cement. And forget about driving here. The roads are horrible and the building structures sit right on the edge. Definitely a recipe for danger, only the speed limit of the toll roads don't normally exceed 35mph.  Anyway, it's not all bad; just not a place I would pay to visit again.

Make sure you have money in shinjiku . there will be lots of things you want to buy and they all add up. its also fairly hard to spot out the atms over there. its not the oriential style city, this is a big brands fashion type city. :)

take a camera if you wanna get a few snaps of the great atmosphere or the famous crossing where tokyo drift was filmed.

transportation is great in japan squishy but great. every 3 or so minutes theres usually a train or bus to take you in the right direction. the maps can get a little confusing though.
