The Thames Path from London's flood barrrier all the way for about 280 km to the source is a real pleasure. Easily managed in stages from London with public transport as the train "hugs" the river as it connects all those charming riverside villages and small towns. Gorey is really nothing more than a stopping point for the local station but has, like all these places a few charming pubs to wind down after the walk.
