like in uzbekistan, watch out for cops in kazachstan. hold on to your passport when showing it to them, because they might take it, followed by you, to a little precinct where they can search you for mariuana or kalashnikovs (dollar$ that is). i've been victim of (attempted) robbery 3 times in central asia, all 3 by police!
