Best and cheapest way to travel through Nairobi are Matatus but you have to know which number you need and how much it should cost else you could be cheated. Something you need to have seen is the Maasai Market on tuesday or the market on saturday. Bargaining is a must but one can make a lot of friends.

Mombasa to Nairobi by night train was a very pleasing event. Have an interesting orient express feeling. Do not expect much comfort tho, as the track is somewhat old and many stops for the local wildlife.

There is a line flight from Nairobi airport into a jungle strip in the Amboseli national parc. The flight is executed in a genuine DC3 (dual engined civil prop plane). One of the most beautiful flights i ever had.
