Travel Tips for Dos and Donts in LaosLuang Prabang, Northern Laos, Laos bars close at midnight, locals are very friendly... after the bars go for a stroll with a little lao lao(booze) u can find life after the bars... dont ride a bike to the waterfalls (a must see) take a taxi as it can be a rough ride Good tip? (0) Champasak, Southern Laos, Laos Talk to the monks, thei will be your friends Good tip? (0) Muang Ngoy, Northern Laos, Laos Muang Ngoy is just the max in Laos. Small village, if you go out of the high season, you are almost alone. The nature is gorgeous. You can do some kayak on a very big river, a bit scary, visit some caves, do some treks in the middle of nowhere. If you want to find a place to read a book for one week without any contact from the outside world, it's the place to be. You can only access it by boat. The best is you sleep for 1$ a night, you can live there for one year food included for 800$. Good tip? (0) Luang Prabang, Northern Laos, Laos I loved them french coffee shop's with real tasty baguettes. There's not much nite life after 1 am or so, but if you want fun, you'll find it, just follow the locals. But anyway it's a place to relax and if you go to bed early, you can see the "monk feeding" in the morning hour. Or you simply do it yourself.
I liked the night market a lot, taking place every evening, starting around 5.30.
