wear a helmet when riding motorcycles if possible. try to avoid riding too late or really early morning if possible.  drunk drivers are out at those times. keep your distance and be aware if you do.  bring pepto bismol just incase.  don't trust everyone. there are cheaper hotels if you look around.  $7/night for a queen size bed, bathroom, airconditioning, and a fan.  I'm sure there is cheaper.  things to do: clubbing, bars, festivals, jogging/biking/walking, bowling, pool hall, restaurants, fishing, shopping, tennis/basketball/other sports....socializing with locals

watch out when getting bus from laos to vietnam, i got scammed with exchanging money at border and dropped off in the middle of nowhere 152 k away from was meant to. Apart from this Laos has to be nicest places in the world with the most  friendly and nice people, pitty their neighbours in vietnam where not the same.

GReat people, very polite and freindly. Food is pretty good as well and the country over all is GORGEOUS. If you can, get to the border with Vientam (Cao Treo)...gorgeous bike ride, plus you'll pass by (cant ermenber now) a place y can go down on some deep caves
