Libya Dos and Don'ts

I couldn't quite believe this place at first. The souq in the old medina is unlike any other in the Arabic speaking world. You get NO hassle at all. Wander around, have a chat with some locals, walk into a few shops. It's a thoroughly relaxing experience after places like Egypt and Morocco!

Only go out when it is dark with locals or stay at your guesthouse.

I liked the places but the regime not.

If you visit Libya and you have a car dont leave it unattended if you go to the beach. I lost my money in this way ..... dont count that someone local will help you ... they help each other so even they saw someone they will even tell you wrong so as not to catch this person

One of the most beautiful and interesting ruins of North Africa!!!It is very unusual to be allowed to walk through! the ruins :))
