It's got a nice collection of mostly modern art.

Vaduz, the capital of Lichtenstein is just like any other alpine city. The Grand Duke´s residence is nice enough but entry is forbidden. The shopping is alright but nothing special and if you lose your way you will most likely find yourself in Switzerland.

Near Vaduz stand the geographical center of Europe. A nice place to be in, with a beautiful park. Splendid to spend a day with a pic-nic !

Lichenstein is really small, about 1/6 the size of Singapore. Get an "entry" stamp at the post office, if you do not mind the cost. It was $1.50 euro or swiss franc. I can't really remember. If you are thinking about visiting Vaduz palace, well, you will be disappointed. You can only get to as far as the gate. The Prince stays there, so it's not open to the public. But the hike up to the palace is not too bad.

For me, Vaduz held no charm. I was disappointed when I arrived there. I somewhat expected the town to be more old fashioned with but the majority of the town seems to be modern whit little to see. There is a small shopping Centre and the goods are Tax free so good value. There is the customary Irish bar, a small camp site which was pleasant enough. Some nice walks around the town and there a couple of castles, one of them being the royal residence of the Duke. Not a place for holidays but if your looking for somewhere to store all your millions then go there.BanksBigger BanksIrish BarMcDonalds!Camp SiteCastlesFancy Border crossingCheap FuelTax free shopping
