Travel Tips from people who've been to Antananarivo
everything familiar is gone...you must remember to bleach fresh fruits and vegetables before eating them!!!...just because the water looks okay to drink it is not!!!... bottled water only!!!...the most common way is walking, bus or cab, but alot is in walking distance...and the roads are not even...watch where you walk as there is Jebu poo all over!!!...however the people are sooo friendly despite the language barrier...it is a simple way of life despite the lack of technology there...shopping is interesting as the price given is always higher than you will pay and you can barter...expect nothing and you will have fun in Madagascar...people will surround you and the children are many...my overall impression was that though poor in material possessions they are RICH in love and giving...overall the trip was fun!!!! Good tip? (0) I spent there just the last two nights. Antananarivo is the capital of Madagascar it is really caothic anyway it worth a visit it's cosmopolital city you can see there a lot of travellers from different countreis ... if you want to visit Antananarivo don't think it's a turistic place . If you want to buy something of local crafts you have to go the the open market...don't buy anithing in the shops they are much more expensive ...in the market you can contract the price...if you buy 50% less the original price is fine As concern restaurants and nightlife there are some very nice places Good tip? (0) On se réveille le matin au-dessus des nuages ...Le zoma s'étale le long du plus grand escalier de la capitale. Les rizières entourent la ville et les pistes de latérite, cette terre rouge, sillonnent la grande île. Good tip? (0)
