04649Alor Setar is really nothing special, apart from the Alor Setar Tower and the Thai Temple on the opposite side of the street. Transit for the island of Langkawi if you plan to go there by boat, coming with a longhaul bus from the south of Malaysia, which can be cheaper than flying, although nowadays it's easier to book with Air Asia. Even Malaysia Airways is relatively cheap for domestic flights.
