royal island is great!i know its a bit expensive but worth it. What can i say Maldives is PARADISE!you go by seaplane from male.all bangalow are nice,big,with an open bathroom and a small private part on the beach where you have got your own sunbeds just infront the beautifull beach.that means you always have a sunbed and privacy.there is a very nice pool if you prefer with massive sunbeds and a coffee bar.the fishes you see when you snorkel just a few steps of the beach are unbelievable!you can also see baby sharks!lovely spa just a litlle bit expensive(compare to the rest of asia),nice gym,play room,and scuba diving is recommended.as i said before this is PARADISE!

Male is not a huge island. From end to end, it dosnt take much time to travel. Yet, the traffic can be busy at best, since the cobbled roads are fairly narrow and theres really not much space to expand.
The best way to travel around is to get a cab. They`re pretty comfortable, air-conditioned and relatively inexpensive. In my limited experience, they seemed fairly reliable too.
Theres a fixed point-to-point fare for any distance on the island- 15 rufiyaa, which is about a dollar.

Its a great place to come to. The airport is on a separate island so you better hope the weather is good or else you'll probably take a long while to land. The main island is only a kilometer and half long so there's not much to do there except perhaps go to the market and one big mosque. Most of the action is at the resorts and most resorts take up one full island. If you are not taking the seaplane then be ready for long ride on the boat since the islands are like far out.
