People in Maldives
Maale, Male' Atolls, Maldives
The capital of Maldives is not worth spending time in unless you are waiting to catch a boat connection to your island resort. The narrow streets tend to be crowded at night with large amounts of people just standing around, which may explain why this Muslim country has the highest divorce rate.

I've seen some tips that visiting the capital is not worth it - well I have to disagree. The capital island is well worth a visit if you want something more than just staying at a resort. It's perfectly safe to walk around and do some shopping or eat some local food and learn a bit about the people who live here. Highly recommended!

Don't forget that the Maldives is a Muslim country, so local culture means that no alcohol is allowed to be brought from other countries.

maldives island with just one word - you are really feel there like in paradies. i was with 4 other friends on the Laguna Beach Resort at the Velassaru Island. Just relaxing, swimming, snorkeling and taking sunbath. if u are a very actif person it could be enough of relaxing after 3-4 days :-) ... but enjoy it

Food in the Maldives is mainly fish, and spicy fish at that. Catching your own fish guarantees freshness!

royal island is great!i know its a bit expensive but worth it. What can i say Maldives is PARADISE!you go by seaplane from male.all bangalow are nice, big, with an open bathroom and a small private part on the beach where you have got your own sunbeds just infront the beautifull beach.that means you always have a sunbed and privacy.there is a very nice pool if you prefer with massive sunbeds and a coffee bar.the fishes you see when you snorkel just a few steps of the beach are unbelievable!you can also see baby sharks!lovely spa just a litlle bit expensive(compare to the rest of asia),nice gym, play room, and scuba diving is recommended.as i said before this is PARADISE!

Kuredu, Maldives
Don't approach the titan triggerfish when he is guarding his nest. They can get quite agressive.

Maale, Male' Atolls, Maldives
Overpriced, but beautifull. Make sure you are on the right isle if you wanna make some scubadives. Some of the isles are ruined by tourism. Lovely place if you have a lot of money to spent and one relax of some nice days on the beach.
