Travel Tips for Transportation in Maldives

Male is not a huge island. From end to end, it dosnt take much time to travel. Yet, the traffic can be busy at best, since the cobbled roads are fairly narrow and theres really not much space to expand.
The best way to travel around is to get a cab. They`re pretty comfortable, air-conditioned and relatively inexpensive. In my limited experience, they seemed fairly reliable too.
Theres a fixed point-to-point fare for any distance on the island- 15 rufiyaa, which is about a dollar.

Really beautful place but be prepared to leave your passport at the airport before getting on the boat to your island (unless they don't to that anymore). Prices are all in US dollars and expensive.

Male' is the capital of the Maldives about 10 minutes from Male' international airport by ferry.

The only means of transport is taxi, however, it is better to walk as it is very small city.
