  25175561Sliema is really a shopping type of place, and a base to stay to explore Malta perhaps.... but Valetta is any day more atmospheric, much more to see, much more historical and charming... and if you want a change from the history and the charm, and wish to rock the night wild with Maltese youth in clubs, bars and the like, then nearby Paceville is the place rather than Sliema... and there is transport available back to Valetta from either till late in the night... Good tip? (0) 0183Cara's Cafe Fantastic low-key cafe with cheap but delicious ftiras and baguette sandwiches, often under 3 euros. Also a wide variety of cakes, pies, and chocolate drinks (a thick cocoa, like Spanish chocolate a la taza). Frequented by tourists and locals alike. Informal enough for children. Open all day.
